1- Form of  the past perfect simple
2- When to use the past perfect simple

* The past perfect simple is had + past partisiple ( gone/seen/finished...etc.)
Sometimes we talk about something that happened in the past :
- Jone arrived at the party.
This is the starting point of the story. Then if we want to talk about things that happened before this time, we use the past perfect ( had...).
- When Jone arrived at the party, Paul had already gone home.

The Past Perfect tense expresses action in the past before another action in the past. This is the past in the past.
For example:The train left at 9am. We arrived at 9:15am. When we arrived, the train had left.
